The qualitative aspect of a product is the result of research and analysis that involves the acquisition of specific knowledge, from the raw materials to the process development, from the specificity of the craftsmanship to the creation of a product.

In compliance with the Reach Regulation, and in line with Tecnochimica's company philosophy, the managers of our research and development laboratories, constantly updated on techniques and regulations, analyze the various raw materials and the items to be treated and, having high technology.

We are able to develop state-of-the-art products and systems to support the tannery's activity, to satisfy its requests and create tailor-made auxiliaries, made with specific and sustainable chemical products, with particular attention to the ecological and environmental impact. .

  • POR FESR Tuscany 2014-2020 - ACTION 3.4.2- Incentives for the purchase of services to support internationalization in favor of SMEs - ITI project "Internationalization Tecnochimica India "

TTecnochimica’s investment program is finalized at the commercial insertion of the company in the Asian market, with particular reference to the Indian one. For this reason, the company’s management has developed a commercial promotion project built on a series of actions: participation in two trade fairs in India and Hong Kong, opening of a Showroom in Calcutta (India), contract with an Indian intermediary company that will put at disposal a dedicated manager, communication and advertising actions on the Asian market, organization of incoming events for Indian operators.

  • POR FESR Tuscany 2014-2020 - Action 1.1.5 Call N ° 1 Strategic research and development projects - "COOLSUN" Project

The project is based on the analysis of the effects of radiation in the near infrared region (Near InfraRed – NIR), not detectable by the human eye, whose absorption by an object causes it to increase in temperature. The pigments capable of interacting in the NIR, called NIR-reflective, reduce the heating of the treated objects. For this reason the NIR-reflective property is useful in applications where it is necessary to attenuate solar heating, such as for example roofing for buildings, leather goods, roofing and transport of heat-sensitive materials.

Until now, NIR reflectivity has been obtained with the use of inorganic pigments, which are however expensive and toxic. The key to obtaining innovative coatings, on the other hand, is to produce organic NIR-reflective pigments to overcome the drawbacks relating to costs, environmental impacts, efficiency and color of the current inorganic pigments on the market.

The COOLSUN project therefore focuses attention on NIR-reflective pigments of an organic nature, in particular those with a perylene structure, of which it is possible through simple chemical modifications to modulate their optical and chemical-physical properties and limit their toxicity, as well as to allow a decrease in production costs. In addition, they exhibit all the characteristics of high efficiency pigments such as high thermal stability, high coloring strength, stability to atmospheric agents and photo-stability. Although recent studies have suggested how it is possible to develop these new pigments to obtain highly efficient coloring products, their behavior in the NIR region has not yet been studied in detail.

  • POR CREO FESR Tuscany 2014-2020 - ACTION 1.1.2 Sub-action A and B- Innovation call: Project CA B Biocompatible Alternative Tanning

The tanning sector has been suffering for some time now from an endemic negative environmental impact due to the presence of chlorides, sulphates and chromium in the waste water of the tanneries. The aim of the project is the development of a new alternative ecological tanning system, without chromium, but performed with highly environmentally compatible acrylic-based polymeric agents that would allow the elimination of toxic substances in wastewater and the recovery of waste products. The investment planned by Tecnochimica consists of the implementation of a theoretical and experimental study, interventions and additives for the implementation of Biocompatible Alternative Tanning processes (C.A.B). One of the main advantages is obtaining chrome-free leather, with higher quality and longer life, increasing resistance to washability, wear and increasing elasticity of the leathers. The absence of chromium in the leather will have a positive effect on the health of workers in the leather and leather sector, on the environment and on the end users of leather, as well as making it easier for the complete recycling of leather processing residues and end-of-life products.

  • POR FESR Tuscany 2014-2020 AXIS I - ACTION 1.1.2: “Support for innovation processes in SMEs and Aid for the acquisition of innovative services” - PRO Project. MO. CHI - "Chemically Modified Proteins"

The project in collaboration with the Chemistry Department of the University of Pisa provides

the implementation of a theoretical and experimental study for the production of chemical products for tanning use derived from protein hydrolysates and testing of alternative and biocompatible tanning processes.

Being able to identify potential processes that allow the functionalization and chemical modification of protein hydrolysates from leather processing waste or other supply chains such as slaughtering, useful for carrying out the tanning, retanning or finishing operations of the leather avoiding or reducing the ” use of reagents containing chromium salts.
